Day 22
Trip to Wuhan’s Coca Cola Factory

Lessons were cancelled due to the afternoon trip to the Coca Cola Factory in Wuhan. It was a very exciting experience for me especially when I never get a chance to take a look at the production line of Coca Cola in Singapore. After reaching there, we were told to take off any labels of the water bottles that we were carrying. Weird right?
As usual, such trips would have short introduction of the company before going down for the actual visit. During the actual visit, we had a top view of their production processes and oh no, I coincidentally saw how much of sugar they had poured into that one processing tube!!!

Below are some of the pictures that we took:

Reflections

What an interesting industrial visit. Although my course does not have any focus on the functions of the production processes, this visit is an eye-opening one. But similarly, looking at how each processes worked reminds me of what my lecturers had said: "With so much perceived demands from the customers and the suppliers, a company should have its employees to work like a flock of birds moving in one direction and response quickly to the challenges ahead." Let's take the visit for example, if the bottles have not been inspected for any damages, the drinks would not be able to pour into the bottles, which subsequently results in insufficient amount of finished items for sale. Therefore, one process affects the other, and the other, and the other, just like a domino effect. This also suggests that teamwork is very important. Every steps must be done in co-ordinance through proper communication and support.
