Day 3
First trip to the city

Finally we got the chance to go to the city!

We went to the Grand Ocean shopping mall. All the nice shops... But almost all of their things are selling at the similar price as the shops in Singapore.

Me, Alvin, Eshlyn, Roy and Xanier went to have our lunch at 《天天见面》. Out of all the stores I have been to, the service there is considered good, so do their food items. I ordered a bowl of Dan Dan Noodles and it tastes good. Sigh. Even though it is delicious, I realised that all along, I have been eating noodles with oil.

YUCKS! Look at the thick layer of oil!!!

After getting our stomach filled, we walked around at the shopping mall. Wanted to get a proper hair cut and chanced upon a salon called "YES I DO", all of us went in and took a look. After much negotiation by Alvin and the cashier(and all thanks to our Global Purchasing Sourcing teacher for teaching us on how to negotiate ), Alvin and I decided to have our hair cut and straightened, Roy and Mr Loh decided to have their hair cut, whilst Eshlyn and Xanier had their hair washed. Along the way, we also met Yoke May and Rebecca, who were also having their hair cut.

Hmm, knowing about the past experiences from the previous OIP Wuhan batch, I wonder how long does this hairstyle last?

Reflection

Mentioned earlier, all of us went to the Grand Ocean shopping mall via the public bus in China. How's the ride? I guess I am proud of my own country's transportation system. Recalled one sentence that my secondary school geography teacher had said: transportation system depicts how developed a country is; the better the transportation system, the better the country is developing. Transportation does not consists solely on transporting of people, but also goods. A good transportation system not only allows things to reach on time, but also 'pushes' the economy for the country.

Compared with the buses in China, Singapore buses are bigger (to carry more passengers), built to prevent people from getting up through the back door, well-equipped with "Ez-Link" tabs and "BUS STOPPING" bells (instead of having a ticket officer to go around collecting ticket money and signaling the bus driver to stop for the alighting passengers). This in turn saves a lot of time and manpower, while making things easier for us. Oh well, although it seems a chore for me to take a bus, I'll still go for it if there's a need to.
