Day 2
Shitty Business

Tsk, tsk! It is just the second day at Wuhan and things are not appearing good to us.
Remember the small toilet hole? We had to take out the shampoo bottles from it. The thought of me saying it again had make me feel disgusted again. ARGH!~

After collecting the card used for buying food in the school canteen, we headed off to buy the ¥50 worth of China SIM card at a price of ¥40. Subsequently, all of us were given OTOT(own time own target)session until the school gates closed. So me, Alvin, Eshlyn, Roy, and Xanier went together to look for our lunch and guess what, we eventually settled on the 《麻辣串串香》 store along the road side.

In the end, the 5 of us actually spent only ¥25 on lunch. Hmm, ¥5 per person. Cheap right?

Our stomach is finally full and satisfied. And yes, we have the energy to move on!

>insert jump shots<

Considering the time taken for all the walking, resting and eating snacks, we finally reached the supermart. Girls are really girls. Xanier, Eshlyn and I actually took our own time to see the items that we want to buy without realising that we had been shopping for about 3 hours! Yah, I admit the time taken is long, but we did buy alot from the supermart. Things are just too much until it seems quite heavy for us to carry to our hostel. Meanwhile, as I bought the items for nearly a ¥100, I got a ticket to collect a free sample of soap. I went to the first floor to collect it from a lady whom was cutting a cardboard. And guess what, that lady actually paused and looked up, took my ticket, passed the soap to me and slammed the cupboard door. Sigh. Although it was tiring, we all had fun and enjoyed our day.

Reflections

The shampoo bottle incident had really made me do the things that I would not even do or think about it in Singapore. The way of life here is definitely different from what we have back home. Like the people here uses the toilet hole as their only drain hole in the toilet, left positioning of the bus driver's seat, drivers uses horn instead of direction light to warn the cars/pedestrians in front/behind. Furthermore, through the supermarket incident, I realised that even though some Singaporeans would sometimes complaint about the level of customer service in Singapore, we should not take our customer services for granted, thinking that no matter where we are, people will still treat customers as the king.

Living here definitely changes my way of thinking and how the way things are actually operate here. But, second day already like that; I wonder how can I survive for the rest of the 40 days? It really makes me wonder.
