Just within these few days, many things had happened. And suddenly, the series of things that happened made me realized something.
There’s a Chinese saying that goes: 在家靠家人, 出外靠朋友. To translate in English, it means that in your home, you rely on your family; but when you are outside, you will have to rely on your friends. Same for here.
Now, out of the house, first time away from home for 6 weeks, no family members here, no more mother’s home-cooked food, no more father’s protection, no more arguing with my sister. All restraint for 6 weeks.
Yes. It is here when you get to know more about your classmates, make new friends: friends in your school, friends from other division, friends to sleep with you for 6 weeks.
For instance, when one of your friends is in need, somehow we do not feel just obligated to do, but our inner side of us will be ‘pushing’ us to help our friends.
From strangers to friends, from friends to the ones that we will be willing to share and lent a helping hand for.
